Michigan voters have the right to cast a ballot early and in person at an voting site on or before Election Day. Learn how to find your voting location.
All registered voters in Michigan can vote at their polling place on Election Day.
A polling place is a location where voting takes place on Election Day. At each polling place, election inspectors (i.e. poll workers) are available to assist voters and run elections.
You can look up the locations of your clerk’s offices, your polling place, and your early voting sites in the voter information section of this website.
Unregistered voters, or voters who have not updated their registration to their current address, must go to their local clerk’s office to register and may also vote at their clerk’s office using an absentee ballot.
Early Voting
Early voting will be available beginning with every statewide and federal election thereafter. Early voting allows a voter to cast a ballot before Election Day. During the early voter period, voters are issued a ballot and can then insert their ballot directly into a tabulator at their early voting site.
Early voting will be available in all jurisdictions statewide and federal elections for 9 days beginning with the second Saturday before an election and ending on the Sunday before Election Day. Cities and townships may offer additional early voting beyond this period.
Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. local time. You have the right to vote if you are in line by 8 p.m.
